Biographie
Robert Rubin a obtenu un BS en sciences biologiques en 1967 de l'Université Cornell et un doctorat. en biologie cellulaire et développementale en 1973 de l'Université Johns Hopkins. Il a fait des études postdoctorales à l'Université du Colorado et au National Jewish Hospital de Denver, Colorado. De 1982 à 2000, il a été membre du corps professoral du Scripps Research Institute. Après un an à l'Institut La Jolla d'allergie et d'immunologie, il a déménagé à l'Université du Nouveau-Mexique en 2002 où il est professeur au Département de génétique moléculaire et de microbiologie. Il est devenu semi-retraité en 2020.
Présentation personnelle
Le travail postdoctoral à National Jewish m'a initié aux maladies auto-immunes. La poursuite des travaux dans ce domaine a redirigé mes intérêts vers l'immunologie fondamentale, en particulier l'acquisition de la tolérance des lymphocytes T centraux. Le développement et l'application d'immunodosages aux maladies auto-immunes se sont poursuivis tout au long. Le lupus systémique et d'origine médicamenteuse est devenu un objectif de recherche particulier. Ces intérêts conduisent à enseigner aux étudiants diplômés et en médecine dans ces domaines.
